The 2014 wedding season officially begins for me tomorrow. I’ll be at the Bonnet Island Estate for the wedding of Arielle and Paul. If you’re not familiar, it’s a great restored estate right on the waters of Manahawkin Bay. What a great place to start the year!
Every year as the season approaches I take some time to think about how great my job is. First and foremost, I get to spend the day with people who are having one of the best days of their lives. How many jobs can guarantee that? Second, I get to travel all over (locally and internationally) to some of the nicest, hippest, unique, historical, simple, cool and awe-inspiring places where weddings take place. And when I’m at these places, I get to turn my camera on and find the angles, lighting, nooks and crannies that show off the location and my couples. Every wedding is different and that’s one of the perks for me - infinite creativity when it comes to making wedding films!
Here’s just a few of the places I’ll be this year: Marina Del Rey, the Horticulture Center of Philadelphia, Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club, Pleasantdale Chateau, the Palm House at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens…and the list goes on and on.
I can’t forget to mention all the new equipment that comes with each new season….Playtime! I’ll be shooting with Canon’s C100 cinema cams this year. They have amazing picture quality and they’re so incredible to shoot with.
Needless to say, I count myself pretty lucky with what I do. My clients really are the best, I get to see and experience amazing wedding days, and I get to do it in amazing locations.
Here’s to 2014 and all my 2014 couples! Thanks and I’ll see you soon!
